Yard
Waste Collection
Green waste such as grass clippings and tree trimmings make up
almost 30% of the waste stream. Residents and small businesses may
recycle their green waste in the residential curbside collection
program. Recycling yard waste is good for the environment and saves
landfill space.
How the Yard Waste Program
Works
Keep your yard waste separate from other recyclables and your garbage.
- NEVER USE PLASTIC BAGS. Plastic bags contaminate
the composting process. Instead, you may use: a standard trash
can with usable handles, a rented Pacific Waste cart (green),
or a compostable paper bag made for yard waste. Containers should
have a maximum capacity of 35 gallons and 60 pounds. Heavier containers
will not be accepted by PACIFIC WASTE SERVICES.
- Place yard waste into 1) a green Pacific Waste yard waste cart,
2) a compostable paper yard waste bag, or 3) a waste can with
at least one yard waste sticker facing the street. Place yard
waste into standard 32 gallon trash cans with at least one-yard
waste sticker facing the street, compostable paper yard waste
bags, or a green Pacific Waste yard waste cart. Bundles are not
to exceed four (4) feet in length, eighteen (18) inches
in diameter and 35 pounds. Bundles are to be tied with
STRING or TWINE only.
- YARD WASTE will be collected by a separate truck on the same
day as your trash and recyclables. Place the yard waste cans,
carts, compostable paper bags or bundles THREE
FEET away from your trash and recycling containers by
7:00AM.
Acceptable Yard Waste
Tree and grass clippings and clean lumber. Please remember the weight
limit of 60lbs per can. Produce from fruit trees, Halloween pumpkins,

also accepted.
