City Council Meetings
The
City Council meets regularly on the first calendar Tuesday at 4:00
p.m. and on the second, third and fourth calendar Tuesdays at 6:00
p.m. in the Council Chambers, located at 276 Fourth Avenue in Chula
Vista.
If you wish to address the City Council in person, you may attend
any meeting, fill out a "Request to Speak" form (available in the
lobby), and submit it to the City Clerk prior to the beginning of
the meeting.
If you wish to address the Council regarding an item appearing
on the agenda, the Mayor will call you
to the podium at the appropriate time.
If the item you wish to address is not on the agenda and is within the Council's jurisdiction, you may speak during "Oral
Communications". State law generally prohibits the Council from
taking action on any issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate,
the Council may refer the matter to staff. Comments during Oral
Communications are limited to three minutes.
Regular meetings may be viewed as they happen on Cox Cable Channel 24. Meetings are aired only in the City of Chula Vista at 6 p.m. every Tuesday except for the first Tuesday of the month, when the meeting begins at 4 p.m. Recorded City Council meetings may be viewed on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. on Cox Cable Channel 24 and on NexHorizon (formerly Chula Vista Cable), Channel 68. Live and Archived Council meetings may also be viewed on the City's website at www.chulavistaca.gov under "Streaming Video."
Copies (DVD) of the meetings are available for checkout on the Monday following the meeting at the Chula Vista Public Library, 365 F Street. They may also be purchased for $20; call (619) 691-5296 for further information.
