About the Office of Building and Park Construction
Building and Park Construction (BPC) manages, monitors and completes
all new facility and park construction projects for the City, and
ensures that all programming issues are addressed during the design/development
and construction drawing phases of these projects. Within this office
are three subdivisions: Administration, Building Construction, and
Landscape Architecture.
Administration provides the leadership, planning, coordination
and management for BPC. This group also prepares, accounts for,
and controls the Office budget, while planning and managing the
City's various capital improvement and development projects. They
are responsible for encouraging internal teamwork as well as citizen
involvement in their projects, and provide support to various city
commissions as needed.
Construction staff is responsible for a lengthy list of city projects,
some of which are listed on this website.
Landscape Architecture works to create, enhance and preserve the
parks, open spaces and trails resources of Chula Vista. They participate
in the planning and design of the City's local parks/recreation,
open space, trails and streetscape facilities network. This division
also directs the process for preparation and review of landscape
design for new master planned communities. Finally, these staff
members are responsible for the administration and implementation
of the Citywide Parks and Recreation Master Plan and the City's
Parkland Acquisition and Development Ordinance.
