About Safety In The City
City of Chula Vista provides a place of employment free from recognized
 hazards,
with the safest possible working conditions. Accidents cause untold
suffering and financial losses to our employees and their families.
In addition, they cause an unnecessary drain of tax dollars used
to pay medical expenses as well as in lost time from the job.
The City of Chula Vista has developed a comprehensive Injury and
Illness Prevention Program. The goal of this program is to minimize
the frequency and severity of employee accidents and to comply with
the laws and regulations that pertain to our operations. Our program
has been designed to eliminate physical hazards from the work environment
and to train employees in safe work practices.
In fulfilling this goal, we have established a safety program in
the office of Risk Management, whose responsibility it is to implement
a comprehensive safety and loss prevention program for all employees
in our organization. The office of Risk Management recommends, formulates
and manages those programs and activities that will minimize or
eliminate unsafe conditions in the workplace, as well as provides
training in all aspects of the work environment, which enhances
safety awareness and increased productivity.
