Leah Browder joined the City of Chula Vista in 2005 after 18 years with the City of San Diego. Ms. Browder's varied municipal background includes work in the City Clerk's Office, Budget and Analysis, Organizational Effectiveness, Community Services, Waste Management, Code Enforcement, and Engineering. Her experience includes all aspects of budget development and administration, organizational efficiency, media relations, public education and strategic planning, including the nationally recognized PLAN 2000 for San Diego's Environmental Services Department which included over 1,800 stakeholders from the community, private sector, and military.
Ms. Browder is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of San Diego State University where she received an undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies and pursued graduate coursework in Communications. Prior to joining public service, she worked for Children's Hospital and Health Center researching language development in children and for KFMB TV in public affairs programming.
