The city will be offering a budget meeting at the EastLake Branch on Wed., Dec. 3 at 6pm. The city will talk about proposed cuts to city departments, which include the service impacts to the library.
On Dec. 4 at 6pm , the City Council will hold a workshop at City Hall to discuss the City Manager's proposals for reductions.
Don't forget to bring your camera.
Afterwards see the library march in the Starlight Parade on Third Avenue at 6pm.

In addition to Santa's visit on Dec. 6 for the Holiday Festival, Santa will make an appearance at a storytime for each branch. Don't forget to bring your cameras.

The library received a total of 236 designs to be judged. Five judges have reduced each of the 4 categories down to no more than 13 in each category. These designs will judged by community representatives and artists.

Virginia "Ginnie" Taylor started volunteering for the library in 2002, and has been a board member since 2003, and is currently the president of the Civic Center Friends and secretary of the Executive Board. Originally Ginnie was a docent at the Chula Vista Heritage Museum, and later helped with the homebound services the library offered.
Ginnie worked at San Diego Aerospace Museum for 17 years, doing a variety of things. She is the parent of two daughters, including longtime library employee Debbie Taylor. A grandmother of 2, there have been three generations of library volunteers in the family. Ginnie is an avid collector of elephants.
