Welcome to the library's first issue of Library Buzz. The Buzz is the library's new eco-friendly way to keep library users informed of programs, events, and other happenings being offered at the library. The Buzz will be e-mailed monthly to anyone who signs up on the the library's homepage.
As this is a new format for us, there may be some growing pains to start. Please e-mail slove@chulavista.lib.ca.us with your feedback so we can make this newsletter the most useful we can.
Thank you,
Scott Love, Public Relations/Cultural Programming Manager

an This first edition of Library Buzz honors Frank and Joan Roseman who have given 40 years of service to the Library and our fine city.
Our library would struggle to exist without the kind of commitment and dedication given by volunteers like the Rosemans. Frank and Joan are regularly sighted at the Civic Center Branch Library pitching in to help with whatever needs doing, organizing projects and attending meetings to provide leadership to the library's growing Friends network.
Frank retired from Rohr Inc. as a Manufacturing Engineer, serving as President of the Civic Center Friends in the early 70s and founding the Heritage Museum in 1992. Frank was the recipient of the U. S. President's "Call to Service Award " from the U.S. Freedom Corps in 2006. Frank volunteers many hours a week helping the Friends and managing the On-Line Bookstore. Check it out at www.Abebooks.com.
Joan retired after 20 years as a School Nurse. She has served on the Executive Board for many years and has most recently graciously stepped in to serve as President of the Executive Board of the Friends when we lost Harry LaBore.
Both have also been docents at Chula Vista's Nature Center where Frank also serves as a member of the Friends of the Nature Center Board. Married since 1945, the Rosemans are parents to two children, including a daughter who is also a Friends volunteer.
Thank you, Frank and Joan, for your priceless service to the community and for instilling a love of the library in your children...
