Enjoy an evening of wine, hors d’oeuvres, and music all while helping to support the library.
On the Apr. 24 at 5 p.m., the CVPL Foundation will host “Fools for the Love of Wine and Literature” at the Salt Creek Recreation Center, located at 2710 Otay Lakes Road in Eastlake Trails.
Tickets for the evening are $35.00 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the three libraries or online at

The Chula Vista Youth Action Council will have their annual Theater Slam on Saturday, Apr. 10 at the Civic Center branch. The event will be held from 6-9 pm and will include original works by amateur artists.
Teens are invited to enjoy the live music, poetry, and dramatic arts all while relaxing in the library. Light refreshments will be served.

Each year, the YAC collects donations for local charities during the theater slam. This year's donations are being accepted for South Bay Community Services.

Kids and teens can earn incentives by reading 3, 6, 9 and 12 hours. Pick up a reading log at your library starting Mar. 22.
The Read Green at Your Library Reading Program runs through April 30.

EcoKids, a six week environmental club for kids in grades 3rd through 6th will begin its third session on April 7. Kids will complete fun activities on such topics as carbon footprints, drought living, rainforests, and eating green.
Sessions will be on Wednesdays at the South Branch and Register online at www.chulavistalibrary.com. Space is limited to 20 participants at each branch.
