Your Chula Vista Library Card
How to get
a Card:
Fill out the online application and bring your
Driver’s License or photo ID and
proof of your current address to any Chula
Vista Public Library branch.
Examples of proof of address:
- payroll check
- utility bill (water, telephone, gas, rent,
etc.)
- car insurance
- car registration or change of address card
A library card is free for California residents, $20 a year for non-residents.
Renewing
All library materials except DVD's may be renewed twice unless the material is on hold and others are waiting.

or go to Your Library Account in the catalog.
Items can be renewed any time of day 24/7.
Borrowing and Loan Periods
For all materials (except DVDs and videos) loan period is 21 days
DVDs and videos -
- Loan period is 5 days
(limit of 10 DVDs)
- To add the DVD & Video checkout option to your card
- There is a 20$ annual fee
- You must be at least 17 years old
