Building Maintenance

Construction & Repair

Construction & Repair/Communications The Construction and Repair section consists of skilled craft workers in plumbing, electrical, locksmith, and HVAC trades.  Through on-going maintenance and repair of the City’s buildings and parks, these workers ensure safe and comfortable environments for both City employees and members of the public.  In addition to their maintenance duties, the construction and repair section manages and completes the minor capital improvement projects throughout the City.

Building Services Communication

The Building Services Communications section (which recently merged with the Construction & Repair section) provides electronic and safety equipment installation, repair and maintenance services to all City departments with an emphasis on Police and Fire so they can provide uninterrupted emergency services to the public.  The section’s objectives include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide immediate response for repairs to Police and Fire emergency communications equipment 24 hours per day.

  • Provide support for repair of non-emergency equipment utilized Citywide.  Provide emergency services and maintenance assistance to Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Protection District for fire dispatch emergency communications systems and equipment.

  • Ensure future communications equipment and services meet minimum standards of quality and maintainability.

  • Maintain all audio/visual equipment, coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for installation of communications equipment and update City equipment to ensure continued compatibility with other agencies in the region.
