History

The land Hilltop Park sits upon was acquired in 1968 and dedicated in 1974. The restrooms and playgrounds were moved to the front of the park in 1992 during a renovation, and the park functions as a drainage basin during heavy rains.

Hilltop Park Playground Re-Opening!

  • On August 9, 2013, the City of Chula Vista held a grand re-opening of the new 4,500 square-foot playground at Hilltop Park. This was made possible by a unique collaboration between KaBOOM!, Foresters, Turning the Hears Center and City Public Works staff who joined an enthusiastic crowd of volunteers.
  • Over 200 volunteers teamed up to provide a complete overhaul of the park's 30 year-old equipment. Besides installing new features such as Triple Racer Slides, Rockblocks Climbing Wall and Scavenger Hunt, the new playground will also feature a nine hole course of Frisbee golf. (Staff is currently evaluating community input on the location of the Frisbee Golf Course. Please check back for more details.)
