Street Sweeping
The
City of Chula Vista has contracted Cannon Pacific Services, L.L.C.,
effective November 15, 2011, to provide sweeping of City streets, center
islands/medians, centerlines and designated parking lots.
Scope of Work
- Establish and maintain a continuous level of cleanliness of
City streets in order to assure protection of the health, safety
and welfare of the community.
- Clean City streets in a systematic and coordinated manner that
compliments, solid waste collection and other City services, by
use of a routing system that will improve current street cleaning
practices while decreasing costs.
- Increase the collection of sediment, particulate, debris and
any other materials on the street to prevent them from entering
the storm drain system as much as possible.
- Provide deficiency reports indicating areas that cannot be swept
and the reason for not sweeping.
Geographic Positioning System
All
street sweepers will be equipped with a geographic positioning system
(GPS) that will enable City staff to monitor real time progress
and provide monthly report capacity for each vehicle. The report
indicates, date and time of service, vehicle identification and
speed, broom or pick-up head down time, mileage and route.
