Traffic Safety - Major Intersection Safety

The purpose of the Major Intersection Safety program is to enhance safety for motorists traveling through the major intersections within Chula Vista.  The goal is to achieve a reduction in intersection traffic collisions citywide, with an emphasis in reducing high severity collisions.

To reach this goal, City Traffic Engineers have analyzed the major intersections Chula Vista using historical data on: traffic collision history, citizen requests/recommendations, and intersection performance reviews.  This data was then used to develop action plans for enhancing intersection safety and vehicular flow.  The City is also incorporating an educational campaign promoting safe driving with a different focus every three to four months.
