Building Division
 The Building Division provides a number of important services for the citizens of Chula Vista. The Division is responsible for the following:
- Confirming that all commercial, industrial and residential
construction projects meet the minimum requirements of the
State and locally mandated construction codes.
- Responding to citizen complaints regarding violations
of the property standards and requirements contained in
the Municipal Code.
- Issuing Chula Vista Business Licenses.
The Division maintains a permit application counter to provide information to the public
and answer citizen inquiries regarding code requirements,
permit applications, and plan review/ inspection processes.

Services Center is designed to help you find answers to
frequently asked questions, download forms and handouts, review
process guides and obtain fee information.

Permitting
You can apply for certain residential utility permits (registration
required), review/request inspections (registration required) or research permit
records on-line.

You can schedule inspections, cancel inspections and obtain
results of inspections, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling
the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) line at (619) 409-5434

You may report a violation by calling the Code Enforcement
Hotline at (619)691-5280 or you may download the Code
Enforcement Inquiry form, complete it and mail it
