Historic Resources Survey
The City of Chula Vista has retained a Historic Consultant to conduct a two-phase Historical Resources Survey consisting of the following general duties:
Phase 1
This phase comprises a reconnaissance-level, windshield survey that focuses on both the southwest and northwest of Chula Vista in order to identify those resources that are not potentially eligible and therefore would require no further review under Title 21. The Phase 1 Report will be considered by the Historic Preservation Commission at a special meeting Wednesday May 9, 2012 at 4pm.
Phase 2
This phase consists of a detailed, intensive-level survey and documentation and evaluation of up to approximately 350 individual resources based on the outcome of the Phase 1. This phase will also include a record update of previously surveyed buildings through the assignment of the California State Office of Historic Preservation (SHPO) accepted eligibility codes.
New | Historical Resources Survey
On February 28th, 2012, the Chula Vista City Council authorized staff to proceed with a Historical Resources Survey (Survey) that would identify both historical and non-historical resources west of I-805 and to update the City’s existing surveys that were conducted in 1985 and 2005. The Survey report, which was completed by a consultant that meets the City’s requisite as a Qualified Expert Professional in historic preservation, is presented here:
