 Chula Vista Green Building Standards
Green Building is a whole system approach to the design, construction and operation of buildings that employs materials and methods that promote resource conservation, energy efficiency and good indoor air quality. The “Chula Vista Green Building Standards” incorporates these measures to compliment our Cities commitment to a better built and natural environment for all.
The effective date of this Municipal Code Ordinance, 15.12, is November 5th, 2009. Plans submitted on or after this date are subject to its conditions. New residential and non-residential construction, additions, remodels and improvements will benefit from:
- Energy efficiency
- Pollutant control
- Interior moisture control
- Improved indoor air quality and exhaust
- Indoor Water conservation
- Storm water management
- Construction waste reduction, disposal and recycling.
