Terry Amsler, a consultant from the California League of Cities Institute for Local Government was contracted in April of 2006 to assist in developing community participation recommendations for the City. The consultant has completed extensive interviews and surveys from community and civic organizations, board and commission chairs and other communty members and civic leaders. He has completed his work and is forwarding recommendations for Council, staff and community consideration. The report contains 46 different measures to improve civic engagement in Chula Vista. Many of these measures are already being implemented by the city, while others would need further Council policy direction. Click here to view the document.
The report is tentatively scheduled for City Council consideration at their regular meeting of May 8, 2007. An agenda report and staff recommendation will be available with the City Council packet distribution.
