Stop on Red. Red Light Running.
It won't kill you to stop. But it might kill you if you don't.
The Engineering and Police Departments are working together
on a comprehensive program to reduce red light running
by employing Engineering, Enforcement and Education efforts. These efforts include strategically placed banners throughout Chula Vista; informational brochures, in English and Spanish; along with bumper stickers and window clings that our Police Department distributes at community events, DUI checkpoints and special enforcement events.

- Collisions caused by drivers who don’t stop on a red light are among the most devastating crashes – almost half result in injury.
- 56% of Americans admit they’ve run red lights, often in an effort to save time.
- 28% of Chula Vistans report witnessing red light running every day.
