Mayor & City Council Functions &
Duties
The city council acts as the legislative body of the city in accordance
with the Constitution of the State of California and the Chula Vista
City Charter including establishing municipal policies, holding
hearings, adopting resolutions, reviewing and approving the city
budget, hearing appeals on decisions of administrative and advisory
bodies, appointing members of city boards, committees, and commissions
as provided by the regulations of the city.
