Otay Ranch Community Storefront
2015 Birch Road (Otay Ranch Town Center), Suite 221
Chula Vista, Ca 91915
In 2011 the Chula Vista Police Department opened its newest community storefront inside the Otay Ranch Town Center. The satellite facility, staffed by volunteers and open five days a week, is the department's latest effort in it's community policing strategy.
The Otay Ranch Community Storefront helps bring police and community resources together, while simultaneously helping to maintain safety in our local neighborhoods. The storefront provides the community with direct access to a variety of police services, including crime public service and crime prevention information, problem solving assistance, access to public law enforcement information such as ARJIS crime mapping and the Megan's Law records of registered sex offenders, and a variety of resources about neighborhood watch programs, crime reports, wanted persons and more. Storefront volunteers can also connect residents with Community Resource Officers for assistance with crime problems in their community.
The storefront is funded by the Chula Vista Police Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting efforts of the police department, and by other private contributions. "The storefront was designed, constructed, and will be operated with virtually no taxpayer dollars," said Lieutenant Phil Collum. It will be staffed primarily by the department's Senior Volunteer Patrol officers, a group of trained and uniformed volunteers that help deliver the department's many services.
The Otay Ranch Community Storefront is located in the Otay Ranch Town Center shopping mall, directly across from Macy's Department Store, down the street from REI, and next to Zales Jewlers. The Storefront is open Monday thru Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
