The Professional Standards Unit ensures that the department supports, promotes, and adheres to the highest standards in training, ethics, and professionalism.

In addition to the recruitment, hiring and training of both sworn and civilian personnel, the unit is responsible for internal investigations and providing liaison to the City Attorney's office and Human Resources Department on issues regarding Civil Service, Risk Management, ADA, FLSA and FMLA.
