Police Dispatchers in Chula Vista are civilians who are motivated
to work various shifts in the around-the-clock Public Safety Dispatch
Center, which handles various levels of calls for police assistance.
Our Dispatchers are trained to take emergency and routine telephone
calls from our citizens. The call information is inputted into a
CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system and then radio dispatched out
to police officers in the city.
Police Dispatchers are trained annually in classes required by
the State of California's Police Officers Standards and Training
Program. Persons who enjoy working with people, changing technology,
like the challenge of multip tasking and have the ability to remain
calm when coordinating difficult situations, are ideal candidates
for this important work.
