Serious Traffic Offender Program - STOP Team
 The California Office of Traffic Safety awarded the Chula Vista Police Department a grant to combat suspended/revoked and unlicensed drivers in the City of Chula Vista.
The STOP Team objective is to cite or arrest drivers who are driving on a suspended/revoked license. The officers will serve warrants for those drivers, conduct stakeouts or "stings" on multiple DUI offenders and arrest them if they are observed driving. The goal of the STOP Team is to reduce the involvement of suspended and unlicensed drivers in felony hit and run, fatal injury, and DUI collisions.
If your car has been impounded:
- Fill and print the Impound Hearing Form.
- Submit your completed form at the Chula Vista Police Department, located at 315 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, CA 91910. Our regular business hours are 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday thru Friday, holidays excepted.
- A person from the S.T.O.P. Team will contact
you within 48 hours (not including weekends or holidays) with a decision about your impounded vehicle.
- For early release prior to 30 days, the driver of the vehicle at the time of the impound must present a valid California driver’s license. 14602.6(d)(1)(E) CVC.
