The Chula Vista Police Activities League (PAL) would like to form a team with citizens and community organizations to ensure another happy holiday season for the underprivileged children of Chula Vista. In 2007, the PAL Annual Holiday food and Toy Drive provided over 300 families and over 950 children with food and wrapped gifts. PAL’s success reflects the generosity and holiday spirit of the community.
The majority of children are from the elementary school level. However, to ensure no child is left out, PAL provides gifts to every child in the home under age 18.
The collected food and wrapped toys are delivered to pre-selected families in early December by uniformed police officers, firefighters, police explorers, volunteers and the PAL Board of Directors.
PAL was organized in 1992 to create and provide activities for the youth of South Bay. PAL is a community based, non-profit organization operated from the Chula Vista Police Department. PAL works with low income and at-risk youth providing after school recreation programs, job training and taking children to major sporting events.
