Chula Vista- On November 22, 2008 Officers from the Chula Vista Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team and the California Highway Patrol conducted a Sobriety and Driver License Checkpoint on the 600 block of H Street in the City of Chula Vista. The operation began at approximately 8 pm and ended at approximately 2:30 am.
During the sobriety checkpoint, 1,317 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and 603 vehicles were screened. Fifteen field sobriety tests were administered and eight drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Thirty vehicles were impounded and forty-nine citations were issued for various vehicle code violations.
This was considered a successful DUI Sobriety Checkpoint. The Chula Vista Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Unit is continuing efforts to keep drivers in our community safe by deterring and detecting impaired drivers.
