The Chula Vista Police Department is partnering with Nixle, LLC as it beta tests its new public notification software system.
This system will allow residents and other interested persons who subscribe to be notified of either urgent, non-urgent, or community information specific to their geographic area. The potential applications are many, including notification of missing persons, crime series information, or upcoming events that may result in traffic delays or road closures.
Nixle, in cooperation with the Chula Vista Police Department, has sent out sign up postcards to 80,000 residents.
