Chula Vista- Officers from the Chula Vista Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Unit conducted a DUI Warrant Service Operation on Monday, January 12, 2009. This DUI Warrant Service Operation is in a series of such operations aimed at increasing public awareness and decreasing the number of DUI drivers who fail to complete the terms of their probation or fail to appear in court.
The operation began at 9 a.m. and lasted until approximately 2:30 pm. Officers went to residences and places of business to look for the subjects with DUI related warrants. Nine people were taken into custody for their warrants. Three citations for driving with a suspended license were issued and three vehicles were impounded. The arrested were transported to San Diego County Jail for their warrants.
Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
