South Bay- On September 8, 2009 Officers from Chula Vista and Officers from the San Diego County Probation Department participated in a joint operation conducting compliance checks on persons on probation for DUI related offenses. The operation was part of the DUI Prosecution and Awareness Program funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety. During the operation, 18 probationers were checked and found to be compliant with the terms of their probation. One probationer was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license.

This was considered a successful operation due to the compliance of people who are currently on probation for DUI related offenses. The South Bay Regional law enforcement agencies will be continuing their efforts to keep drivers in our community safe.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
