8/13/2010 - DUI PROBATION STAKEOUT OPERATION RESULTS

On August 12, 2010 Officers from Chula Vista PD and Officers from the San Diego County Probation Department participated in a joint stakeout operation conducting compliance checks on persons on probation for Felony DUI related offenses. The operation was part of the DUI Enforcement and Awareness Program funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety. During the operation, 16 probationers were checked and found to be compliant with the terms of their probation. One probationer was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license, and placed under arrest for a probation violation.

This was considered a successful operation due to the compliance of people who are currently on probation for Felony DUI offenses. The South Bay Regional law enforcement agencies will be continuing their efforts to keep drivers in our community safe.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Chula Vista Police Department is asking for the public's continued assistance throughout the year to Report Drunk Drivers - Call 9-1-1.

"DRUNK DRIVING. OVER THE LIMIT. UNDER ARREST."
