Chula Vista Police are seeking information regarding two men who robbed two stores and attacked the clerks with pepper spray.
The first robbery happened at the Hostess Brands "day old" bakery store on Main Street off Broadway on September 24th at approsimately 5 p.m. Two men entered the business, pretended to be shopping and took some items to the checkout counter.
As the items were placed in a bag one of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money. As the employee handed over cash from the register one of the suspects squirted the clerk with pepper spray.
The robbers struck again the next morning about 9:45 a.m. at Hollywood Gourmet Food on East J Street near Claire Avenue. While one of the men pretended he was shopping the other came suspect came up behind the clerk and squirted him twice with pepper spray. The men ordered the clerk to give them money from the register and the safe.
The thieves then confronted a second person who walked into the store, pointed a handgun at him and forced him to the ground.
One of the robbers is described as Hispanic, 25 to 30 years old, shaved head, approximately 6' tall between 250 and 275 pounds.
The second suspect is also Hispanic, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160 to 180 pounds, thin build.
The getaway car is described as a 2004 to 2008 black, four-door, possibly a Nissan Altima, with tinted windows.
