On February 24, 2011, Officers from Chula Vista, National City, San Diego, Probation, and San Diego County conducted a multi-agency DUI Warrant Sweep in the South Bay Region of the County of San Diego.

The operation was part of the Repeat Offender DUI Prosecution and Awareness Program funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.

During the operation, 10 DUI offenders with outstanding warrants were taken into custody, and another two with outstanding warrants turned themselves into the court after Officers attempted to contact them.

This was considered a successful operation, both for clearing warrants in the judicial system and taking those disobeying court orders to return to court to complete their obligations. The South Bay Regional law enforcement agencies will be continuing their efforts to keep drivers in our community safe.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
