Coronado - Officers from the Chula Vista, National City, Coronado, Southwestern College, and San Diego Police Departments, and the San Diego County Sheriff's and Probation Offices will be conducting a "Zero Tolerance" DUI Sobriety Checkpoint on Saturday, May 28th, 2011 in Coronado.
This sobriety checkpoint is the fourth in a series of multi-agency DUI enforcement operations aimed at increasing public awareness and decreasing the number of drivers who drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This checkpoint is part of a Repeat DUI Offender Prosecution and Awareness grant targeting impaired drivers.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
