7/26/2011 - Don't Be A Vehicle Burglary Victim

The Chula Vista Police department has noted an increase in vehicle burglaries, many of the crimes committed in eastern Chula Vista in the past month.

The Chula Vista Police Department would like to remind residents, business owners and visitors that vehicle burglary is one of the most common crimes committed in our community. A thief can break into a car in a matter of seconds. Make it difficult for the thief by ‘hardening the target’ and lessening the opportunity for criminals.

Please, do not leave valuables in your vehicle; purses, cameras, cell phone, iPods, iPads, backpacks and laptops are commonly taken when in view. Let’s work together to keep Chula Vista safe and put criminals out of business.
