DIGITAL BOOKMOBILE NATIONAL TOUR COMES TO CHULA VISTA LIBRARY
The “Digital Bookmobile National Tour” is making a stop in Chula Vista on Monday, February 26. Traveling from coast to coast, the updated mobile exhibit provides an interactive experience for readers of all ages to explore eBooks and audiobooks that are available at the Chula Vista Public Library. From 1 to 6 p.m. at the Otay Ranch Branch Library, located at the Otay Ranch Town Center, visitors can learn how to borrow digital books, stop at the Gadget Gallery to explore a variety of devices, talk with eReading experts and much more.
Sponsored by OverDrive, a digital distributor of eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video, the 42-foot long Toterhome (a motorhome built around a semi-truck chassis with the ability to tow or carry a vehicle, boat, or trailer) is equipped with the latest high-tech updates. Features include broadband internet PCs, free Wi-Fi connection, touchscreen monitors, premium sound systems and portable media players. In the Gadget Gallery, readers can explore popular devices such as iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Chromebook and Kindle. Interactive learning stations encourage visitors to search the library’s digital media collection. Beginners can get a one-on-one tutorial from technical experts. OverDrive supplies reading platforms to more than 36,000 libraries and schools worldwide.
Readers can borrow eBooks and audiobooks anytime, anywhere through the Chula Vista Public Library’s website at www.chulavistalibrary.com, with no late fees. Another option is to use the OverDrive app to read or listen. All you need is a valid library card!
