ICLEI SOLAR MARKETPLACE COMES TO CHULA VISTA

Post Date:05/08/2018 3:14 PM

The City of Chula Vista’s most recent Climate Action Plan was adopted by the City Council in September 2017 and includes a goal for using 100% clean renewable energy in the community.  These goals help ensure that renewable energy is being added to City facilities and in the electricity provided by San Diego Gas & Electric. In addition, many Chula Vista residents and businesses also have chosen to add solar panels directly on their buildings. With the creation of the ICLEI Solar Marketplace there is a new tool to help them.

As the leading global network of cities, towns and regions committed to building a sustainable future, ICLEI, Local Governments for Sustainability, offers solutions to local governments to meet their sustainability goals. ICLEI USA is proud to partner with EnergySage to provide the ICLEI Solar Marketplace to ICLEI members, such as Chula Vista, and make it easier for local governments to promote solar in their communities.

The ICLEI Solar Marketplace is an online platform that helps residents quickly research and shop for solar energy systems. Free tools and resources are available to help answer questions and provide assistance in comparing options to make an informed decision on switching to solar. The Marketplace provides quotes online from multiple, pre-screened local installers and helps compare offers in an apples-to-apples format.  Anyone who participates also will receive information about local energy efficiency opportunities to help them save even more.
