Mayor Hosts Colonel Dickinson’s Country Chicken Dinner
Experience a piece of Chula Vista’s history Saturday, August 2, when Mayor Cheryl Cox and the Chula Vista City Council host Col. Dickinson’s Country Chicken Dinner in Bradley Hall at the Community Congregational Church, located at 276 F Street.
Col. Dickinson’s Country Chicken Dinner is a pre-Centennial commemoration of Chula Vista’s upcoming 2011 hundred- year celebration. Join us as guest speaker Dick Reynolds, retired General Manager of Sweetwater Authority, discusses the Sweetwater Dam’s role in Chula Vista’s history. The afternoon includes an antique show and sale. Peter Watry and Frank Roseman will autograph their newly published photographic history “Chula Vista.” The book may be purchased for $20 at the event (proceeds go to the Heritage Museum). Local author Virginia Loh has also been invited.
Attendance is limited to only 200 visitors. Your $25 ticket includes a chicken dinner, sides, dessert and beverage. Dinner seatings are available at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. with guest presentations at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Proceeds from ticket sales will help fund Chula Vista’s Centennial book publication.
