Classical Guitarist And Art Guild Reception

Internationally acclaimed guitarist Roberto Limón will perform while the Chula Vista Art Guild holds their annual art reception Friday, Oct. 17. The Guild will announce this year’s winners of the Community Portraits Exhibition at the event to be held at the South Chula Vista Branch Library beginning at 7 p.m., with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m.  The library is located at 389 Orange Ave.

Maestro Limón, who resides in the South Bay, is a Mexican guitarist who has performed in Spain, Greece, Portugal, Germany, Korea, the Czech Republic, Russia, Lithuania, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, the US and Mexico. He has also performed as a soloist with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra.  Aside from his extensive concert activity, Maestro Limón is also the Director of the Centro Hispanoamericano de Guitarra and the Executive Director of the Orquesta de Baja California. Both organizations are headquartered in Tijuana.

The Chula Vista Art Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to building an association of painters and lovers of art. The Guild was founded in 1945, and has evolved into a multi-medium and multi-stylistic array of visual artists.  The Guild sponsors art education, mentoring, art exhibitions and competitions, and social events for its artists and the community at large.  Anyone interested in knowing more about the Guild should contact them at
