Are you having trouble making your monthly mortgage payments? Visit the City’s free HOME Clinic at the Civic Center branch library Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for assistance. At the clinic, distressed homeowners can access resources and services that can provide help in determining their options. Registration is required.
Everything homeowners need is in one location at the HOME Clinic, including attorneys, real estate and mortgage industry professionals, housing counseling agencies and fair housing organizations. Homeowners can receive a personal review of their mortgage, lending and escrow documents. They can also meet with local HUD (Housing and Urban Development) approved professionals to get advice and direction about resolving their financial dilemma.
Those who attend the HOME Clinic can consult with local attorneys who are knowledgeable about real estate, lending, bankruptcy and family law. Educational sessions on credit management, mortgage loans, bankruptcy and consumer protection will be offered.
The HOME Clinic is a community service program of the Housing Opportunities Collaborative—a coalition of local nonprofits-- in partnership with the Legal Aid Society of San Diego Pro Bono Program. To find out more about HOC, visit www.housingcollaborative.org.
To schedule an appointment for the clinic on October 25, send your name, address and telephone number via e-mail to Homeclinic@HousingCollaborative.org, or call (619) 283-2200. There are a limited number of personal attorney counseling appointments, so register soon. Assistance is also available in Spanish.
The Civic Center library is located at 365 F Street.
