This tax season don’t deal with the frustration of misplaced forms and tax publications or struggle to answer tax questions. To help residents with their taxes, the Chula Vista Public Library has tax assistance offered by volunteers as well as paper copies of many tax forms and instruction booklets.
“Thanks to the assistance of AARP volunteers, we again can invite our residents to utilize the library’s services to help prepare their taxes,” said Library Director Leah Browder. “Whether they need copies of forms or come in for personal assistance, the library strives to make this stressful and busy time easier.”
Free tax help: Free personal tax assistance starts on Feb. 2, 2009 and ends on April 15, 2009 at two of the Chula Vista Public Library branches on the following days and times:
- Civic Center Branch: AARP has scheduled sessions every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- South Chula Vista Branch: AARP is offering assistance on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The library is unable to assist with appointments in advance; the service is offered on a same day first come, first serve basis.
Tax forms and instruction booklets: In addition, paper copies of most basic tax forms and booklets are available at all three of Chula Vista’s branch libraries.
