| < The City of Chula Vista offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day. Closures include all city recreation centers, pools and libraries. However, for the first time in 22 years, the Nature Center will remain open for the entire three-day weekend.
The facility will feature interactive animal feedings and demonstrations throughout the day, as well as a special grilled lunch from 11 am-3 pm for only $5. For additional information about this special Labor Day event, please contact the Nature Center’s program manager Charles Gailband at (619) 409-5906.
Public safety will not be affected by the holiday schedule. Emergency 9-1-1 calls, and police and fire stations will provide regular daily 24-hour services. Public Works Department services including streets and sewers will be available on an emergency-only basis.
Trash removal in the city of Chula Vista will be delayed one day. Those who have collection on Monday will be collected on Tuesday and so forth for the week.
