The City of Chula Vista is accepting applications for two vacancies on the Planning Commission and one vacancy on the Parks & Recreation Commission through 5 p.m., Monday, October 26.  Applicants must be Chula Vista residents, at least 18 years old and registered voters. 

Commission information and applications are available at www.chulavistaca.gov and at the City Clerk’s office, 276 Fourth Avenue, (619) 691-5041.  Applications can be submitted online or to the City Clerk’s office by U.S. Mail or hand delivery.  Applications will not be accepted for consideration of these specific vacancies after 5 p.m., October 26. 

All applications will be forwarded to the Mayor and City Council.  The Mayor and City Council will submit the name/names of applicants they want to interview.  Applicants receiving two or more nominations will be scheduled for interviews. 

Applicants will be interviewed by the City Council in a meeting open to the public on a date selected by the City Council.  When interviews have ended, the City Council will deliberate in public until an applicant receives at least three confirming votes and the City Council makes its selection.
