|Not sure what to do with that old television or other small household electronic item? We can help! The City of Chula Vista will be conducting an electronic waste recycling event on Saturday, February 20 at the old Public Works Yard, located at 707 F Street. The free event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is sponsored by the Environmental Services Division.
Items that are accepted for recycling include televisions, monitors, desktop and laptop computers, DVD players, radio, camcorders, microwaves, household batteries, fluorescent light bulbs and mercury-containing thermostats and thermometers. Items not accepted are stoves, refrigerators, paint, car batteries or other hazardous waste. This collection event is funded by a grant from the California Department of Resource Recycling and Recovery.
In addition, the City does operate a household hazardous waste facility that is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. except major holidays. For more information, please call (619) 691-5122.
