The City of Chula Vista is accepting nominations for the 2010 Gayle McCandliss Art Awards, now through July 1. Given annually to adults, graduating seniors and community organizations that have supported the arts in Chula Vista, the fund is named after former Mayor Gayle McCandliss, who was a strong supporter of the arts.
Student award nominations for any graduating senior who resides in the City of Chula Vista, may be submitted by high school teachers, administrators or counselors. Nominations of organizations and individuals may be submitted by any resident of Chula Vista.
The McCandliss Art Awards will be presented at a future City Council meeting. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on July 1 at the Civic Center Branch Library, 365 F Street. Nomination forms are available on the city’s website at http://www.chulavistaca.gov/goto/grantopportunities.
