Senior Volunteer Patrol Honors Its Own With Brick Dedication

Chula Vista's Senior Volunteer Patrol (SVP) will honor past members in a special brick laying ceremony on Wednesday, December 15. The event begins at 12 noon at the South Bay Family YMCA,1201 Paseo Magda. Former members include Robert Hunter, Richard Trovado and George Valentine. Family and friends of deceased members will be in attendance for the dedication.

The City's Senior Volunteer Patrol program boasts more than 60 members who are committed to being the "eyes and ears" of the Chula Vista Police Department. SVP members enforce handicapped parking regulations, provide fingerprinting for children, document graffiti, conduct vacation home security checks and assist with traffic control—and more! They are the ultimate community volunteers.

For more information on Chula Vista's SVP, please contact Leo Banales, Professional Standards Unit Officer, at (619) 409-3898.
