|Enjoy a casual evening under the stars with wine, hors d’oeuvres and music while helping to support the Chula Vista Public Library. On Saturday, May 21 from 5 – 9 p.m., the Chula Vista Public Library Foundation (CVPL) will host “Bon Appetit – Wine Tasting and Restaurant Sampler” at the Salt Creek Recreation Center, located at 2710 Otay Lakes Road. Nineteen area restaurants and food vendors, excellent vintners, popular deejay John Henry, a silent auction and an art show will entertain guests.
“Thanks to our generous sponsors and the library lovers of Chula Vista, we hope the community will celebrate with us for a evening of good music, great food, excellent wine – all to support a worthwhile cause – our Chula Vista Public Library,” said Betty Waznis, Library Director. “Your support means more to us now more than ever in these challenging budgetary times.”
The CVPL Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the Chula Vista Public Library by providing charitable funds to further the education and community service goals of the library. Some of the CVPL Foundation’s efforts include: support for library services, programs, collections and promotion and development of the Chula Vista arts and culture community. The Foundation is also currently concentrating its efforts on building support and resources for the possible storefront library outlet at the Otay Ranch Town Center shopping center.
Tickets for the evening are $35 per person and can be purchased at the three libraries or online at www.cvplfoundation.org.
