|Winners of the Chula Vista Centennial Photo Contest have been announced by the Chula Vista Public Library and the Chula Vista Heritage Museum. The contest, intended to capture unique images of Chula Vista, was open to photographers for a six-month period. One hundred twenty entries were submitted and included an assortment of places, wildlife, and people in Chula Vista.
Funded in part by a Community Enhancement Program Grant from the County of San Diego, the contest coincides with Chula Vista’s 100th anniversary.
Four prize winners awarded cash prizes include: Grand Prize, Rob Greenaway (Reflections of Light - Bay Blvd./Main St.); First Place, Steve Wood (Birds and Salt Works); Second Place, Maria Aguilar (Third Avenue Sign) ; Third Place, Rob Greenaway (Chula Vista Nature Center) . Honorable Mentions were Maria Aguilar (Historic James Johnson House) and Jonathan Chapin (One Day, Just a Memory - Marina Parkway at the Bay).
The winning photographs are now available for viewing in the Civic Center Branch Library at 365 F Street, and are posted on the library’s website at www.chulavistalibrary.com .
