The Chula Vista Recreation Department will be hosting two needs assessment public forums for users and potential users of the Norman Park Senior Center. The senior center will be increasing its hours from the current 30 hours per week of open public use to approximately 55 hours. The new hours of operation and additional activities, targeting adults over 50 years of age, will begin on Tuesday, September 6.

“We believe we do a good job offering recreational opportunities to our aging population who are over 65 years of age, but we need to begin to target the Baby Boomers in that mix as well,” said Buck Martin, Director of Recreation. There will also be an online survey posted August 2 specifically targeting the Baby Boomer generation. “We recognize that there is always room for improvement in our service structure, while maintaining the quality services that we still have in place,” Martin added.

Both needs assessment forums will be held at the Norman Park Senior Center, 270 “F” Street. The first one is scheduled for Thursday, August 4, from 12 - 2 p.m. and the second on Wednesday, August 10, from 9:30-11:00 a.m. The public is encouraged to attend and offer input or complete the online survey.
