Effective November 2012, Citizenship classes are suspended indefinitely
United States Citizenship Classes are being offered at Chula Vista’s Civic Center Branch Library on Tuesday evenings. The on-going, open enrollment classes, held in English and Spanish, meet once a week from 6-7:30 p.m. at 365 F Street. Sponsored by the non-profit organization, “Moving Forward to Changing Directions,” the free services include citizenship classes, one-on-one or small group tutoring, practice interviews with a trained volunteer or staff member, citizenship application, and referrals for legal advice. Trained volunteers will teach US History and Civics, interviewing skills, and civic engagement. Participants will also study the reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills needed to pass the citizenship test. For more information about who is eligible to apply for citizenship, and to sign-up for a new student orientation, call Moving Forward to Changing Directions at (619) 955-7030.
