|Beautify Chula Vista, the popular neighborhood clean-up event, is in need of volunteers! This year the City of Chula Vista is celebrating its 100th birthday while marking the ninth year for Beautify Chula Vista. The annual event, hosted by Mayor Cheryl Cox and the Chula Vista City Council, in collaboration with I Love A Clean San Diego, Allied Waste Services and the Chula Vista Centennial, is scheduled for Saturday, October 22 at Harborside Park, 670 Oxford Street. Registration and check-in starts at 7:30 a.m., and the day wraps up with lunch and a raffle ending at noon.
More than 800 volunteers are expected to turn out for this year’s event in southwest Chula Vista to paint out graffiti and pick up trash along city streets. The focus area for the clean-up is Broadway to Third Avenue between Orange Avenue to K Street and Broadway to Hilltop Drive between Orange Avenue to Naples Street.
This is a great opportunity for students to earn community service hours and for residents to get involved by lending a helping hand in their community! For more details and registration, please visit www.beautifychulavista.org. All volunteers must register prior to the event. Make a difference by registering today!
