Applications Being Accepted for GMOC, Design Review and other Boards and Commissions
 
The City of Chula Vista is accepting applications for volunteer positions on several Boards and Commissions. To be eligible, all applicants must be at least 18 years old and registered to vote in Chula Vista elections.

The Design Review Board (DRB) has one vacancy and applications will be accepted through 5 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2012. Applicants will be interviewed by the City Council in a public meeting, tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

Applications for two vacancies on the Growth Management Oversight Commission (GMOC) will be accepted through 5 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2012. One vacancy is for an Environmental Interests representative and one vacancy is for a Southwest Territory representative (applicant must reside south of L Street/Telegraph Canyon Road and west of La Media Road). Applicants will be interviewed by the City Council in a public meeting, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, January 31 2012.

Applications for DRB and GMOC will be forwarded to the Mayor and City Council. The Mayor and City Council will submit the name/names of applicants they want to interview. Applicants receiving two or more nominations will be scheduled for an interview. Candidates will be contacted if selected for an interview.

Applications are being accepted until the vacancy is filled for other Boards and Commissions, including, but not limited to the following:

· Board of Appeals and Advisors

· Charter Review Commission

· Commission on Aging

· Cultural Arts Commission

The application and a complete list of open volunteer positions are available online at www.chulavistaca.gov/goto/boards/ and at the City Clerk’s office, 276 Fourth Avenue, (619) 691-5041. The City Clerk’s office is open Monday – Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon.
